George Chepke started a family-owned business in 1972 serving Youngstown, Ohio, with a focus on underground utility projects. In 1988, the company was reorganized to become Utility Contracting, Inc., with sons David and Jeffery assuming leadership. The scope of work was expanded to include major water, sewer, and gas work, as well as sewage treatment plants, roadway improvements, and building site work.

The success of Utility Contracting, Inc., is built upon a commitment to our core values of teamwork, integrity, safety, and efficiency. These values have led to the formation of many valuable, long lasting relationships with numerous government agencies, municipalities, utility companies, and other contractors.
